Yachting in Chicago was created to record the events and highlights of the boating season in Chicago. The magazine has been printed each year since 1959. It contains information on member organizations and their activities for the year just ended. Other articles usually highlight the operations of the U.S. Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Chicago Marine Police, and the Venetian Night festivities. The magazine is an excellent source of race result information for sailing competitions and predicted log contests for power boats. Special maritime events are chronicled in this publication together with messages from the Commodore of the CYA and the Publisher of Yachting in Chicago.
