The Chicago Yachting Association (CYA) is excited to again host Chicago’s only  major Salmon Fishing Tournament, “The Chicago Salmon Classic.”  The Chicago Salmon Classic is a big dollar tournament with a 1st place prize of $4,000 based on 30 registered boats.  There will also be an optional “Big Fish” contest with a $300 1st place prize (assuming 30 participants).   Approximately $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded overall.  Each boat/participant will pay a $300 entry fee for the Tournament and a $25 entry fee for the big fish contest.

This event will be held September 11, 2010 from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. at Chicago’s three northern harbors: Diversey, Belmont and Montrose.  The Chicago Corinthian Yacht Cub in Montrose Harbor and the Diversey Yacht Club in Diversey Harbor have graciously offered the use of their facilities during this event.  In addition, Westrec Marinas and the Chicago Park District have offered free dockage in one of the participating harbors on Friday night for participants.  Participants who would like to have dinner at the Diversey Yacht Club on Friday night are asked to make dinner reservations with the club.
